When we are set up a cat show.....we charge by each subject...and how many photos we take during the course of the session. The fee for a traditional session is US$40.00 per session plus US$2.00 for each photo that I think is good...up to a maximum of 15 photos....with a maximum fee of USA$70.00. If I take only five shots I think have merit...the fee would be US$50.00....if I have thirteen photos I like....or more...the fee is still only US$66.00. Foreign shows would be about US$10 more per session for increased postal costs, or US$80 per traditional photo session or the equivalent at the exchange rate at the time of the show/session. The amount will vary depending upon the current exchange rate.
For the traditional session fee above you receive in about 3 weeks (it can vary from 1--6 weeks depending on workload) a 4x6 inch print of every photo taken, and web files via email at 650x433 pixels for use on your web site and for email usages. Web files provided on CD and mailed, add $2 to the fees listed above.

Obviously with moving subjects...and cats to boot....not every shot will be a "keeper". Usually we expect a return of at least 50% when we shoot.....or I may not take photos at all...and under those circumstances we don't charge at all. I have a saying the harder I work the less I make...as often the hardest subjects may involve the most time...and the fewest actual photos taken...
We don't normally reserve times for sessions...as the owners are often running between rings, and cannot predict accurately when they will be available....nor can we say how long any particular cat will take. Usually if you get a ring call...we write down your cat's number...and you come back later as time allows to finish the session. We find that often repeat visits to the studio at the show will make the animals more relaxed anyway...and often that results in better images...
